The Portuguese Way in Galicia wanders gently northward, following old roads that cross forests, fields, villages, ancient cities. Roads that jump over water channels through medieval bridges. Roads enriched with the presence of shrines, churches, convents and stone-crosses, where the comforting image of Saint James appears often, accompanying the pilgrim on his or her journey.

This 5-day walking route along the Spanish leg of the Portuguese Camino route offers a landscape that stretches from rolling hills down to the sea, hugging the coast along the estuaries of Vigo and Pontevedra , leading pilgrims into leafy woodlands , waterfalls and hot springs.

DAY 1

Origin – Tui

DAY 2

Tui – Redondela : (30.9 kms – 19.2 miles)

Driver assisted walk: Tui- Orbenlle ( 9.2 kms. – 5.7 miles ) and Mos – Redondela (9.8 kms. – 6 miles)

DAY 3

Redondela – Pontevedra (18.2 kms – 11.3 miles)

DAY 4

Pontevedra – Caldas de Reis (23.8 kms. – 14.78 miles)

DAY 5

Caldas de Reis – A Esclavitude (24.4kms. – 15.16 miles)

DAY 6

A Esclavitude – Santiago de Compostela (17.5 kms. – 10.87 miles)

DAY 7

Santiago / return home

What is included:

What is not included:

Notes:

  • Available accommodation along the Camino varies from village to village.  Your accommodation may be in one (*) or two (**) star hotels, * or ** hostels, bed and breakfast style accommodation or similar, monastic guest houses etc. All rooms contracted have private bathrooms.
  • The breakfasts included in the price of accommodation are generally simple breakfasts of coffee, tea or hot chocolate; pastries, toast, marmalade, juice, etc.
  • Where contracted, dinners are set-price menus that include an appetizer, a meat or fish entreé, dessert, bread, water or wine. After dinner coffee and drinks are not included.  Dinners are reserved and served in the restaurants of the contracted hotels wherever possible.  In some cases it may be necessary to reserve dinner in nearby restaurants.
  • Where contracted, the luggage transport service gives each individual traveler the right to the transport of one (1) piece of luggage or no more that 12 kilos (26.5 lbs).
