This itinerary covering the final 114 kilometers of the Camino de Santiago is for pilgrims who would like to earn the Compostela – the certificate awarded to pilgrim who have made the journey to Santiago for devotional, religious or spiritual reasons – but who do not have the time to devote to a longer journey. Because the cathedral authorities require pilgrims requesting the “Compostela” to have completed at least the final 100 kilometers on foot in a continuous fashion, in this, the final stage of the Camino de Santiago in Spain, you will enjoy the unparalleled hospitality of the Galician people as you make your way to the tomb of St. James in Compostela. Once there, you can request your Compostela at the Pilgrim’s office, and then attend the evening Pilgrim’s Mass at the cathedral, before taking in the sights and sounds of this ancient city with its unique mix of local residents, university students, and pilgrims from all over the world in Santiago’s lively historic city center.
